Basil essential oil

If you're looking for mental alertness, while calming your nervous system, basil essential oil is a great essential oil to diffuse in your office space or anywhere you're looking to experience these feelings.

It is a beautiful focus essential oil.

Basil brings us all the way to Egypt, our source of basil essential oil. This oil has a history dating back 5,000 years. Historically, it was used in cuisine, they used it for calming, they used it for focused energy, and it has a long history. In today's modern culture, basil is an oil that we don't necessarily use all the time, outside of cooking, but it is a very powerful oil for when we need it.

The central molecule is linalool. Linalool is a very calming molecule in essential oils. Several studies show that basil essential oil helps to promote the opening of our lymphatic vessels. Lymphatic vessels are the vessels that drain organs, that drain parts of our body from toxins, from bacteria, and it's an incredibly critical part to our nervous system. When lymphatic vessels become backed up, we start to see problems in different areas of the body. One of the most common concerns that we see with, especially children, is when their ears get backed up and they're not draining properly. Children start to pull on their ears, they begin to cry, they start to get a lot of pressure and discomfort in their ear. Basil essential oil, applied along the side of the neck, helps our body open up lymphatic vessels so that our ear can start to drain correctly. Children experience great relief if they are having that type of discomfort in their ear.

Basil is great for nursing mothers. I'm currently nursing Mila and basil essential oil supports a healthy level of milk production. Apply a couple drops, right underneath your armpit, or directly on the side of your breast where you are nursing. This is such a great, natural way, to feel confident when you're nursing that your baby is receiving enough milk.

There are many more wonderful benefits of basil; however, this was a great start!
