Align the Centering Blend for Yoga

It is the first day of our A to Z series, and we couldn't be more excited because we have a beautiful blend.

Yes, today brings us to Align. Now, it is one of the three oil blends in the Yoga Collection, which I am so excited about. Align brings a sense of centering, a sense of alignment, a sense of ease and purpose when you apply it on your body.

The three main oils in this blend are some of my favorites. The first is bergamot. Bergamot is in this blend because it is very emotionally uplifting and calming to our body at the same time. All citrus oils are emotionally uplifting; however, bergamot is unique because it is calming to the body.

Second is coriander, which is an oil that not a lot of people use frequently. Ancient Egyptians called this the spice of happiness because of its calming, relaxing benefits, and also it has been known as an aphrodisiac for hundreds of years.

Take that information as you will and apply it to your life as you would like :)

Now to marjoram, which has very calming and relaxing properties to our muscles and tissues. So when you're doing yoga or before you exercise, one of the things that we want to have happen is the relaxing of our muscles, increasing our mobility, relaxing the tissues, and marjoram is a beautiful oil for this reason.

The major molecules in these oils that cause these relaxing properties are linalool and linalyl acetate. The other oils in this blend are pretty amazing too and make sense why they're in Align together. They are peppermint, basil, geranium, and jasmine.

Peppermint, we all know is hugely energizing to our body, which we're going to need in a physical practice like yoga.

Basil essential oil gives you a sense of focus. So it's a great oil in this blend to focus on your practice and your body.

Geranium is very calming to our body.

Jasmine is one of my favorite floral essential oils and is exceptionally uplifting. The aroma is just beautiful. So all the essential oils put together make Align the perfect blend when you're practicing yoga. However, you don't necessarily have to do yoga to use this essential oil.

There are two different ways you could use it. You can diffuse it, which we don't use that much of the oil when we diffuse it just because all the oils in this blend are very powerful. Second is topically, a couple of great spots to apply are on your wrist, over your heart, or the back of your neck.

You can do it throughout the day whenever you feel you need to align your body or energy.
